The consignment note for carriage within one country

When the place of taking over and the place of delivery are in the same country, the contract of carriage by road is documented with the national consignment note instead of the international CMR. Like the CMR, it records who hands the goods over, who carries them, what is carried and under what conditions.

DGAssistant issues it from a consignment that is already in the application, so the parties, the vehicle, the driver and the goods do not have to be typed again. The application decides whether the note is issued electronically or on paper, depending on the route and on the configuration of the account.

The ADR document travels with the note

When the carriage includes dangerous goods, the ADR transport document travels attached to the consignment note, so the driver carries one set of papers and the inspection finds both at the same time.

The note also keeps the successive carriers with their vehicles and drivers, the seals of the transport unit and the references of the loading and unloading docks, which is what allows a delivery to be proved afterwards.

What you have to do

Record the parties in the address book with their addresses, create the note from the consignment and issue it. The application checks the places of taking over and delivery before issuing it.

If the carriage crosses a border, the document that applies is the international consignment note, and the application says so when it checks the places.
