IMDG Multimodal Dangerous Goods Form
How to prepare a sea consignment with DGAssistant
What the video shows
- Every consignment starts here. The labels in bold identify the mandatory data.
- If mandatory data is missing, the application states exactly what is required.
- Select the consignment type and the mode of transport. The application then asks only for the data that sea transport requires.
- Shippers, consignees and carriers are defined once and then selected from the address book.
- Enter the ports, the vessel, the container and the signatures of the container/vehicle packing certificate and the declaration.
- A new consignee can also be created without leaving the consignment.
- Search the complete catalogue of dangerous goods by UN number or by name.
- Define the packaging. The application calculates the net quantity per package.
- Every rejection states the reason: 20 L per inner packaging exceeds the 10 L allowed by Packing Instruction P001.
- With the quantity corrected, the packing instruction is selected automatically.
- 2.5 L per inner packaging complies with Packing Instruction P001, so the goods are added to the consignment.
- Mixed packing: several dangerous goods can travel in the same outer packaging.
- Add each dangerous good with its inner packaging.
- Each addition is checked against its packing instruction, and the flash-point is requested for flammable liquids.
- Indicate the number of packages and add the mixed packing to the consignment.
- The shipping remarks report segregation incompatibilities and the gross weight as the goods are added.
- Select the documents to issue and finish the consignment.
- The Multimodal Dangerous Goods Form is issued automatically from the data of the consignment.
- For the road leg, it adds the tunnel restriction, the totals by transport category and the 1.1.3.6 calculation.
- The application completes the hazard data, the EmS codes and the marine pollutant mention, and adds the flash-points.
- The form ends with the container/vehicle packing certificate and the signature of the shipper.
- The package marking shows the proper shipping name, UN number, net quantity, shipper and consignee.
- The checklist lists the marks and labels of each package and the checks to make before loading.
